# API and MCP changelog

> Review the initial AmzDownloader REST and MCP contract, including extraction jobs, cached product media, playlist conversion and shared account credits.

AmzDownloader API and MCP use a versioned public contract. This page records customer-visible interface changes; check the health and capabilities endpoints for current service availability.

## Initial API and MCP release

The initial contract covers single-product media extraction, owned job status and results, cached product media lookup, video playlist conversion and account usage.

The hosted MCP endpoint exposes six tools matching those workflows. REST and MCP share API keys and the existing credit balance. Successful media retrieval and conversion each cost one credit; polling, failures and completed idempotent replays are free.

Bulk extraction, a published npm package and OAuth are outside the initial contract. This source entry describes the release interface and does not establish a production deployment date.
