AmzDownloader can return cached media immediately or create a background job for fresh extraction. Inspect the result metadata before deciding whether it is recent enough for your application.

Read cached media

GET /products/{asin}/media looks up product media by ASIN and marketplace. include is a comma-separated list of media categories; renderMode selects the rendering requirement.
A successful lookup returns completed media in data and costs one credit. A cache miss returns an error without charging a credit. Submit POST /scrapes if you need a new extraction. The product media endpoint is a cached read and does not silently schedule work.

Request a refresh

Set refresh: true on POST /scrapes when you need a new extraction. The service can return a fallback result when a refresh is blocked. Preserve warnings, cache.stale when present, and the original data.source.fetchedAt rather than labeling a fallback as newly retrieved.

Work with expiring URLs

Source media links can change or expire. Freshness of a media record is separate from whether every source URL still works. Do not send your API key to a returned image, video or MP4 URL. Only request and reuse source media when you have the required rights. Cache durations and current capabilities can change. Use returned timestamps and warnings, not a locally assumed retention period. See errors and retries if a source blocks refreshes or a stored job result expires.
